I'm out of town until the New Year taking a little break from the Holiday Sale madness this past December. 5 sales in 2 weeks. Madness I tell you! Thanks for everyone who came out to say hi or to buy. Unfortunately the last sale for the Urban Art Network got snowed out. Also an article on the Handmade Crafting Revolution in Portland came out in the Oregonian on Sunday 12/18/05. A picture of my one of my bird cards with its wood-cut was printed in the paper (I'll post a picture soon). Okay until next year...

Five year ago when I lived in San Francisco I befriended Dee Thonnard who was a seasonal ranger at the San Francisco Maritime Park. Now back on the east coast, Dee organized a print show with linoleum block prints by her, and wood-block prints by me in the Spadefish Art Gallery at the Aquarium where she now works. Thanks Dee!
10/19/05 If you didn't catch it in the last post... Four Portland Bridge Postcards are now done! This summer I biked all 10 Portland Bridges during the annual BridgePedal. Two of the bridges are usually CAR ONLY. Riding all the bridges has inspired me to make prints of some of my favorites. So far we have St. Johns Bridge (also 2005 calendar), Broadway Bridge, Hawthorne & Steele Bridge. Will there be more bridge postcards? I'm not sure.. am I missing your favorite bridge?
10/18/05 Red Bat Press congratulates fellow art friends Susan, Torie, Cathy, and Rachel of SuperCrafty. Today they had their new how-to Book Release Party at the Doug Fir in Portland. Red Bat Press raffled off a series of 4 Portland Bridges with the Hawthorne & Steel Bridge Postcards debuting. Check out the SuperCrafty website to find out how to get the book. In fact, I have a small cameo in the book. Cathy Pitters writes about a social-craft action project where we collected trash for a sculpture we created for the St. Johns Window Project in 2004.
08/22/05 Current Project update. Two postcard series in the works - Musical Horns & Portland Bridges. So far two postcards of each are completed, but look for 4+ postcards to complete the two series by the end of this year. Also 2006 calendars are in the works, and hopefully 3 - 4 designs will be completed by Mid-Sept.
